What is Voter Protection?
Nevada Democratic Victory Voter Protection Team Members Discuss Voter Protection 2022
An engaged and active Voter Protection Team is a critical part of any election process. Poll observers are voters’ advocates; they ensure that the voting process is running smoothly. Their presence is key and vital. That presence also serves as a deterrent to anyone who may consider disrupting the voting process and disenfranchising the voters.
Please join us on Monday, September 26, to learn about Voter Protection in Washoe County. We will hear from Nevada Democratic Victory staff about voter protection practices in place this election season. Nevada Democratic Victory is the officially recognized coordinated campaign of the WashoeDEMS and all the major Democratic races in the state. Jeff and Nassim from the Nevada Democratic Victory Voter Protection Team will be with us to explain the importance of voter protection, to describe how voter protection works, to answer questions about the upcoming election, and to share information about how to get involved with voter protection efforts. The meeting will include a question and answer session. You may submit questions in advance HERE, or submit them during the meeting.
This very important meeting will take place in person at the South Valleys Library and via Zoom. Our hope is that this hybrid format will allow for those who may not be able to travel to the library or to attend an in-person meeting to still be a part of this educational event. We will have a social time in-person and online from 5:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Refreshments will be served at the library. The formal meeting will begin at 6:00 p.m. and will conclude no later than 7:30 p.m.
While at this time South Washoe DEMS does not require masks for its in-person meetings, they are recommended, as is attending on ZOOM if you are not feeling well on the day of the event.
Attendees will be asked to sign in at the library, and ZOOM attendees must register in advance at this link.
