Date(s) - April 4, 2022
6:30 pm - 7:30 pm

“Don’t agonize –  organize!” That’s been the motto for any number of causes over the years for good reason. It works! And the time has come for us to take it to heart.

The recent fiasco caused by the introduction of the Washoe County Commission’s voter-suppression Resolution #14 proved that the threats to election integrity, voting rights, and our very democracy are right on our doorstep. Local Democrats joined together and defeated it. But what about next time? We need to be on guard and ready for action.

Join us as our esteemed guest speakers discuss these threats and ways that all of us can be activists in this most important battle to protect our rights. Whether from the privacy of our own homes or in public venues, we’ve got a job for YOU!

Our speakers include:

  • County Commissioner and Vice Chair Alexis Hill, leader of the resistance to Resolution #14. Hill is also the Second Vice-chair of the WashoeDems and a leading community advocate and activist.
  • Washoe County School Board President Angie Taylor, current target of a no-cause, bogus recall effort by the same cohort that promoted Resolution #14. Taylor is also a candidate for Nevada State Assembly District 27 and a longtime public servant.
  • Jeff Smith, Voter Protection Director for the Nevada Democratic Victory 2022 Coordinated Campaign. Smith has a long history dealing with election integrity issues in multiple campaigns and states.

Questions for the speakers can be submitted in advance here.
