Join us for the first of South Washoe Dems’ Candidate Forums for 2022.
As you know this is a pivotal election year for Nevada and the nation. One of our
U. S. Senators, all our congressional representatives, and all Nevada’s statewide
offices are up for election this year.

South Washoe Dems is inviting Democratic candidates for statewide office and
Congressional District 2 to participate in candidate forums. The first of these will
be held on Monday, February 7 at 6:00 p.m. via Zoom. Candidates below, and
any who announce before the February 7 meeting, will participate in a panel
presentation.

Zoom registration is required via this link. The meeting will start promptly at 6:00 PM. We respectfully ask that you join at least 10 minutes before 6:00! 

Democrats Cisco Aguilar and Ellen Spiegel are running for the Nevada Secretary
of State office being vacated by Republican Barbara Cegavske, who has reached
her term limit. (The bios below are in alphabetical order.)

Cisco Aguilar
Cisco Aguilar is the founding Chairman of Cristo Rey St. Viator Board of Trustees,
Of Counsel at De Castroverde Law Group and Founder and Chairman of Blueprint
Sports, LLC, a sports technology company providing parity and equity in business
opportunities for athletes. He formerly served as General Counsel for Agassi Graf,
the management company for Andre Agassi and Stefanie Graf, and the Andre
Agassi Foundation for Education. Prior to Agassi Graf, Cisco served as Special
Counsel to the Chancellor of the Nevada System of Higher Education, and as a
lawyer for the parent company of the Las Vegas NBC affiliate, KSNV Channel 3 and

Ellen Spiegel
Ellen Spiegel has a degree in  Consumer Economics from Cornell University
and was an e-commerce pioneer. Among her many achievements: Ellen helped
bring The Weather Channel online; developed the very first online store that let
people purchase software and download it to their computers, and was
instrumental in the development of Internet privacy and email marketing
guidelines that protect consumers. She served in the Nevada Assembly for five
terms, and she was the first graduate of Emerge Nevada to be elected to public
office.  Ellen owns a successful Nevada-based consulting firm with her husband

The primary will be Tuesday, June 14, with early voting running from May 28 through June 10.
